The charcoal grill is a variant of the grill and is used to fry various foods under radiant heat. The heat is generated by the controlled burning of charcoal without the formation of flames. The charcoal grill is the most common grill variant in Germany because the fuel charcoal is generally available.

  • Suitcase grill: This variant can be folded up and transported using a handle.
  • Column grill: Oxygen can be supplied via a hollow column attached under the charcoal container, which accelerates the heating of the charcoal.
  • Ball grill: The ball grill has a round shape and is equipped with a lid. It also enables indirect grilling.
  • Three-part grill: This is a swivel grill with the grill grate attached between the three legs in a rather lower position.
  • Camping grill: This type of charcoal grill is easy to assemble and dismantle, which increases its mobility.
  • Swivel grill: With this variant of the grill, the grill grate hovers over the embers attached to chains.
  • Grill chimney: The grill chimney describes the type of grill that is permanently walled in.
