Hypertext Application Language
Hypertext Application Language (HAL) is an Internet draft to define hypermedia such as links to external resources within JSON or XML code. The standard was originally proposed specifically for use with JSON in June 2012 and has since been available in two flavors: JSON and XML; however, the last version of the HAL draft expired on November 12, 2016. The two associated MIME types are application / hal + xml and application / hal + json .
