Hypno anesthesia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Hypnoanästhesie refers to the onset of hypnosis techniques in clinical and outpatient anesthesia .

With hypno anesthesia, sensory perceptions during and after the operation are influenced in such a way that they are processed differently. Pain may be felt less or not bother. Suggestions of rest and relaxation can be processed in dreams. Fears of anesthesia may be reduced. The use of narcotics and thus their side effects can possibly be reduced. The data on clinical studies is ambiguous; Problems are small case numbers, the lack of control groups , difficulties with standardized assessment and the impossibility of a double-blind study , since the participation of the patient is necessary.

The technique of hypno-anesthesia is currently not part of specialist training in Germany.
