IISEPS

The IISEPS (Independent Institute of Socio-Economic and Political Studies), also known as NISEPI (from Russian: НИСЭПИ, Независимый Институт Социально-Экономических и Политич, Институт Социально-Экономических и Политич, Инстимый Институт Социально-Экономических и Политич andескихr, investigates the political, market and economic process in Belarus, и Политич and ескихr, Инолитич, and ескихr, и Политич, and ескихr Civil society formation. The institute's activities include regular opinion polls, publications in Belarusian and international media, and the organization of conferences and seminars.

history

Shortly after Belarus gained independence, the institute was founded in Minsk in 1992 by the professor of sociology Oleg Manaev . In April 2005 it was closed by the authorities due to administrative violations. The IISEPS sees this as a political measure to prevent the work of the institute. In response, the institute has reopened in Vilnius , Lithuania and continues its work there.
