INID

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"INID" is an acronym for "Internationally agreed Numbers for the Identification of (bibliographic) Data" and stands for the scheme used by patent offices around the world to list bibliographic data from patent publications in a uniform form, regardless of the publication language on the cover sheet. For example, after the number (30) there is always the information on earlier so-called priority applications of the patent and after the number (51) the technical areas (classes) according to the International Patent Classification (IPC).

INID codes are standardized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in ST.9.
