ISO 16484

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The international standard ISO 16484 deals with building automation and the required regulation and control systems (Building automation and control systems BACS). It consists of several parts:

  • Part 1 deals with project planning and execution
  • Part 2 specifies the hardware requirements and provides definitions, designations and abbreviations for parts 2 and 3. It also describes the generic part of a system.
  • Part 3 specifies the overall functionality of the system, including the project planning aspects, which also contain templates for system documentation.
  • Part 5 defines the BACnet protocol, via which a control system communicates with the periphery and other control systems.
  • Part 6 contains test routines for BACnet.

Other parts are withdrawn or in process:

  • ISO / NP 16484-4 Building automation and control systems - Part 4: Applications
  • ISO / NP 16484-7 Building automation and control systems - Part 7: Project Implementation
