ISO 16484
The international standard ISO 16484 deals with building automation and the required regulation and control systems (Building automation and control systems BACS). It consists of several parts:
- Part 1 deals with project planning and execution
- Part 2 specifies the hardware requirements and provides definitions, designations and abbreviations for parts 2 and 3. It also describes the generic part of a system.
- Part 3 specifies the overall functionality of the system, including the project planning aspects, which also contain templates for system documentation.
- Part 5 defines the BACnet protocol, via which a control system communicates with the periphery and other control systems.
- Part 6 contains test routines for BACnet.
Other parts are withdrawn or in process:
- ISO / NP 16484-4 Building automation and control systems - Part 4: Applications
- ISO / NP 16484-7 Building automation and control systems - Part 7: Project Implementation
