The trade journal IT & Production - magazine for successful production is the first specialist medium on the German-speaking market that focuses exclusively on IT solutions for the processing industry. In March 2000 the first issue of IT & Production appears. The circulation in 2011 averaged 14,500 copies per issue. IT & Production is published by Technik-Dokumentations-Verlag GmbH in the university town of Marburg.
IT & Production is a German-language trade journal for the use of industrial technology solutions in all branches of industry. The range of topics includes production controlling, quality management and automation integration as well as the use of IT systems in intralogistics , supply chain management , servicing and maintenance, service or customer relationship management. Product lifecycle management, documentation, IT-supported product development and document management are addressed from the engineering area.
In addition, IT & Production regularly presents key sectors and topics from the areas of mechanical and plant engineering, automotive, chemical & pharmaceutical, food & beverage, plastics, aerospace, green production and IT security. The focus is on practicable solutions that are aimed at companies from small and medium-sized companies with a high proportion of manual production to highly automated series production in large companies. In addition, IT & Production provides market overviews, information on new products, events and trends from research and industry.
The IVW-tested and actually distributed circulation averaged 14,500 copies per issue in the period from July to September 2011. The IT & Production is distributed throughout the German-speaking area (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Members of the information technology competence field in the VDI receive the magazine as a free organ magazine as part of their membership fee.

The online magazine it-production.com offers a digital knowledge database in addition to the print magazine.
