Circle of ideas

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A circle of ideas is a form of “internal working group ” for working on problem areas or for exploring new development ideas. The concept originates from the production world of the automotive industry.

The aim is to activate the creativity potential of employees that has so far been largely unused. It is based on the experience that solutions can best be found where the matter is dealt with on a daily basis.

Employees take up operational difficulties and problems that arise in the daily work performance and work out proposed solutions. It is important to let the participating people come together in organized small groups with a common basis of experience and different hierarchy levels. These meet on a voluntary basis in regular discussion groups and thus develop new approaches to solutions or contribute to their implementation.

A circle of ideas establishes a complementary line to other areas of the company and is convened for a limited lifetime.

The quality circles later developed from this form of operational cooperation .
