Identity Document Register

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The identity document register (IDR) is the central database in Austria for issuing identity documents and keeping procedural data on record in the course of issuing travel documents.

This is a register launched as part of the e-government strategy of the federal government in which all passports (passport, alien passport, convention passport, service passport and diplomatic passport) and identity cards are entered.

The issuing authorities have direct access to this register via the Corporate Network Austria (CNA). The issuance of passports and identity cards is processed exclusively via this register.
