Imperio is an Austrian dance floor and dream dance formation that has been active since the mid-1990s . The project was initiated by Norbert Reichart .

The hallmark of Imperio is the monumental sound, which borrows from the monumental films of the 1950s and 1960s. In its early days, the band can still be seen as a typical representative of Eurodance in the 1990s. However, in the course of the nineties it developed increasingly in the direction of the dance trance genre.

history

The group initially consisted of the singer Manuela Ray (alias Manuela Ferisovic), and the rapper Michael Harris (alias Paulo Martins). They were signed by the record company EAMS. With a few exceptions, all of the records were published on this label.

Her greatest hits were " Quo Vadis ", " Veni Vidi Vici " and " Nostra Culpa ". However, the following album “ Veni Vidi Vici ” also made it into the charts. In addition, numerous promo videos appeared that were also visually based on the Roman Empire. After the release of the third single " Nostra Culpa " Harris left the group to devote himself to his family and his studies. Lawrence Madia joined him for him.

After that, the group continued to develop. The second album " Return to Paradise " can be assigned to dream dance . The subsequent singles "Cyberdream", "Atlantis" and "Return to Paradise" also achieved considerable chart successes.

After the release of the last single " Wings of Love ", the band wanted to start a comeback in the late 1990s. The single " Voices of Eternity " planned for 2001 was never officially released. In 2002 the record company EAMS announced a new single for the group with a new line-up. Shortly afterwards, however, the record company ceased operations and there was no more release.

In 2013 a remix of " Never Go Away " (DMP Mix) was released as a single download on the 2012 label 104pro Media . The piece had previously appeared on the last album " Return to Paradise ".
