Berlin-Brandenburg Innovation Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Prize, the states of Berlin and Brandenburg jointly award outstanding product developments, services and concepts from regional companies and research institutions. The prerequisites for participation in the competition are that the solutions submitted have a direct reference to the Berlin Brandenburg region and already exist as a prototype, that marketing has already started or that they have been established on the market for the first time. The prize has been awarded since 1984 by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Enterprises and since 1992 together with the Brandenburg Ministry for Economics (now the Ministry for Economics and Energy). The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros each and is awarded to a maximum of five applicants each year.

Framework of the competition

The innovation award is financed as part of a " public private partnership ". The total costs are borne by the states of Berlin and Brandenburg and by sponsors from the private sector. Representatives of the private-economic partners support the award on the partners' advisory board. They give impulses and advise on the further development of the price. Current partners include the Berliner Sparkasse , the investment banks of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg, Wall AG, the Technologie Stiftung Berlin, Opel Automobile, Gasag and the Berlin city cleaning companies . Also Berlin Partner , WFBB , Stromnetz Berlin , Berliner Bürgschafts Bank, Autotissue, GFaI, Adlershof Science at Work, Laserline, Movact, Dantzhoehne, micro resist, Cannobe and Takeda .

As media partners, Brand eins , Der Tagesspiegel , Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung , Antenne Brandenburg , RBB Inforadio, Gründerszene and Berlin Valley as well as qiez.de and the Yellow Pages support the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Prize.
