The Instituto Nacional de Estadística [ instiˈtuto naθioˈnal de estaˈðistika ] (abbreviation INE , German 'State Statistics Institute') is the Bolivian statistical service . The task of the institute in La Paz is to collect, compile, group and publish the statistical data of the country of Bolivia. Among other things, it is also responsible for carrying out the census .

The National Statistics Institute was founded in 1863 as Mesa Estadística , a subdivision of the Ministry of Finance, which has been operating under the name Oficina Nacional de Inmigración, Estadística y Propaganda Geográfica since 1896 . On January 14, 1936, under the presidency of José Luis Tejada Sorzano , the Dirección General de Estadísticas y Censos was founded, which was converted to the Instituto Nacional de Estadística  (INE) on April 30, 1970 .
