Community of interests of the regional airfields

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The interest group of regional airfields eV (IDRF eV) is the association of currently 73 regional airports and regional landing sites as well as almost 50 air traffic control services and aviation-related companies from Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Sweden, Finland and Denmark , founded in July 2005 .

As an interest group of decentralized aviation, the IDRF represents the common interests of its members and advocates the optimal use of the existing facilities and capacities as well as the needs-based maintenance and expansion of a nationwide air traffic infrastructure in Germany.

The IDRF represents its members in public, when dealing with the media, the licensing authorities and other state institutions, for example when making statements on air traffic legislation. A common presentation platform on the IDRF website also serves this purpose.

In order to counteract the cost pressure due to new European directives, among other things, the members of IDRF go a common way to reduce costs by working together to efficiently solve common tasks. In particular, the special competencies or experiences of individual airfields are to be used in a beneficial way for all members of the community, and future tasks are to be solved more specifically by the community.

The organizational basis of the cooperation are the biannual working meetings of all managing directors of the IDRF airfields. The moderation of these meetings, their content preparation and follow-up as well as the mutual coordination of the various IDRF projects is carried out by the IDRF board. The chairman of the IDRF is Ralf Schmid, who also heads Memmingen Airport .
