International Tracing Service of the Salvation Army

The Salvation Army's International Tracing Service is an organization of the Salvation Army with offices in around 100 countries to search for missing family members. The office in the country in which the seeker lives is responsible. Precisely defined rules must be observed when searching. The work is strictly confidential. Information will only be used as part of the search and will not be passed on to third parties.

Seekers must submit a written request and fill out a questionnaire. The following search cases are not accepted:

  • Friends
  • debtor
  • genealogy
  • Children under 18 years (police and Interpol responsible)
  • In some countries, the law prohibits searching for fathers of illegitimate children.
