Internationalized Resource Identifier
Internationalized Resource Identifier ( IRI ) is the internationalized form of the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI). They are defined in RFC 3987 . IRIs extend the allowed characters in URIs from a subset of the ASCII character set to almost all characters of the Universal Coded Character Set ( Unicode / ISO 10646).
