Interorganizational system

When designing information systems , a distinction can be made between an internal and an external perspective. An information system that is used to support inter-company cooperation - i.e. it adopts an external perspective - is defined as an INTER-organizational system . They therefore play an important role in supply chain management . On the other hand, an information system that supports internal cooperation or the internal flow of information is called an INTRA organization system.
