Interception

The term interception (Latin: absorption, removal, embezzlement) can have the following meanings:

  • the "interception" of an embryo in the sense of preventing its implantation in the uterine lining (so-called nidation inhibition), see interception (gynecology) ;
  • the “interception” or retention of rainwater on the surface of plants so that it evaporates and does not reach the ground, see interception (hydrology) ;
  • the "interception" or retention of dust particles in filter systems, see blocking effect .
