Intracting

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Intracting is a financing instrument that is used to implement measures to save energy (electricity, heat) or other resources. In practice, intracting takes place mainly in public budgets , especially in mostly larger local authorities (cities), and in larger public bodies (churches).

The principle of Intracting is self-financing, by means of the money saved through the energetic measures. To do this, it is necessary to create a special budget item that is provided with one-off start-up funding. This is used to finance the first measures that will lead to cost savings over time. This difference between the energy costs incurred before and after is credited to the pot. This means that new measures can be financed again and the start-up financing amortized over time. In contrast to energy-saving contracting , intracting does not involve any external service provider; its role is taken over by an internal organizational unit.
