Isabell M. Puppy

Isabell M. Welpe (* 1975 ) is a German business economist and has held the Chair of Business Administration - Strategy and Organization at the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University of Munich ( TUM School of Management ) since April 2009 .

Career

Welpe studied business administration at the University of Munich and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She also received a Master of Science degree in European Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science . After a research stay in Berkeley , she received her doctorate in 2003 with a thesis on venture capital providers and their portfolio companies: Success factors of cooperation in Regensburg . After another research stay at the University of Minnesota as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2004, she completed her habilitation in 2007 at the University of Munich. She then carried out research as a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Economics in Jena and followed a call from the Technical University of Munich in 2009. There, at the age of 33, she received her certificate of appointment as professor at the TUM School of Management . Since 2014 she has also been the director of the Institute for University Research . In 2016 she was elected a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering ( acatech ). She has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Giordano Bruno Foundation since 2006.

research

Isabell Welpe conducts research at the interdisciplinary interface between theories of economics , psychology and neuropsychology . Her research interests lie in the areas of strategic innovation , organizational design and behavior in organizations, as well as governance and performance management .
