Jeunesse Sportive Madinet Chéraga , often abbreviated as JSM Chéraga or JSMC , is an Algerian football club from Algiers .

history

JSM Chéraga was founded in 1940 in Algiers in the Chéraga district . For a long time, the team only played in the lower-class league area and at most drew national attention as a participant in the Algerian national cup . In particular, it was overshadowed by MC Alger, who is based in the same district .

In 2007, the JSM Chéraga competition team won their third division season and rose to the second-class Ligue Professionnelle 2 . Here, however, she had no chance and rose as the table penultimate with only eight season wins from 36 league games directly from. The club then disappeared briefly from the national scene as an amateur league team, but reached the first main round in the state cup again in 2013 and - as a fourth division team - even made it to the semi-finals in the 2013/14 cup competition . There the team lost against the eventual title holder MC Algiers.
