Yearbook (philately)

A yearbook of philately includes the postage stamps of a vintage from a country designated by the competent postal administration publishes. Often only the special postage stamps with and without surcharge are taken into account, while definitive stamps are left out. The stamps are mostly contained mint, sometimes also canceled, usually first day cancellation.

A special feature of the yearbook can be an additional black print . For collectors, this is often the only way to get a black print. More recently, one can also find holographic reproductions of a brand. Also postal stationery can be one part of the yearbook.

There are yearbooks in simple copies or with lavishly designed pages and a hard cover. The stamps are in clip pockets, the first day special cancellation is often shown. In addition, there is information on the occasion, motif and information on the brand itself (design, print, size, type of paper, date of issue). Some postal administrations number the issues of a yearbook consecutively.
