Java Business Integration

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Java Business Integration ( JBI ) is a specification for the implementation of a service-oriented architecture that was created under the Java Community Process (JCP). JBI 1.0 is defined by JCP 208, JBI 2.0 by JCP 312.

JBI is based on the Web Service Model and offers an expandable architecture for a container that provides components for providing and processing services.

Services can contact the container using binding components (BC) or can be provided as part of the service engine (SE) within the container. The service model is based on the Web Services Description Language 2.0.

Some Enterprise Service Bus implementations, such as Open ESB and Apache ServiceMix , are based on JBI.
