Jens P. Meyer
Jens P. Meyer (born February 3, 1971 in Bielefeld ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 2015 to 2020 he was a member of the Hamburg Parliament .
Live and act
Jens Meyer grew up in East Westphalia . In 1990 he passed the Abitur at the Pelizaeus Gymnasium in Paderborn . He then did military service at NATO headquarters in BALTAP in Denmark until 1992 . From 1992 to 1996 he studied architecture at the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences , then at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts , each of which led to a degree in engineering. He then worked until 2000 as a salaried architect with a focus on design and planning and since then as a freelance architect in project management.
In 2004 Meyer became a member of the FDP. Shortly after joining the party, Meyer became a member of the board of the FDP district association Harvestehude - Eimsbüttel and a member of the district board of Eimsbüttel. From 2008 to 2014 he was a member of the Eimsbüttel district assembly . There he was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group. In the state elections in Hamburg in 2015 , he took fifth place on the FDP state list and moved into the 21st state parliament . For the FDP parliamentary group, he was spokesman for urban development, culture and equality and a member of the urban development and culture committee.
The focus of his work was urban development, district culture and the rehabilitation of homosexuals convicted according to § 175 after the Nazi era.
After the FDP failed to meet the five percent threshold in the 2020 citizenship election , he left the citizenship.
