The fourth Jogos da Lusofonia (4th Lusophonie Games) will take place in 2017 in the Mozambican capital Maputo .
The multi-sport event of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries is of the "Association of Portuguese-speaking Olympic Committee," the ACOLOP organized. At its general assembly in Macau in December 2011 , Mozambique officially applied to host the event, with no opposing candidates.

The twelve members of ACOLOP are invited to participate:

4 teams from Asia
1 team from South America
1 team from Europe
Venues
On the occasion of the award of the Games to Mozambique in 2011, the then President of the Mozambique Olympic Committee , Marcelino Macome, declared that all the necessary infrastructure in Maputo was already in place as a result of the Pan-African Games in 2011 .
The most important sports facilities in 2017 will therefore be:
- Eduardo Mondlane University - handball, karate
- Josina Machel School - Badminton
- Zimpeto National Stadium - athletics, football
- Pavilhão Zimpeto - basketball
and u. a. the other sports facilities of Zimpeto, in particular the Olympic swimming pool and the tennis stadium.
