Johann Albin Schlick

Johann Albin Schlick, Count of Passaun and Weißkirchen, Lord of Falkenau and Duppau (* 1579 , † 1640 in Zwickau ), was a representative of the Bohemian estates and supporter of the Winter King Friedrich V of the Palatinate .

Life

Johann Albin Graf Schlick was born the son of Count Christoph II. Schlick (1535-1615), Lord zu Passaun, Weißkirchen, Falkenau and (since 1566) Duppau and his first wife Catharina Hrzan von Harras .

In 1615 he was commissioner for the national defenses and a member of the Bohemian government directorate. In 1618 and 1619 he was elected director and regional councilor from the gentry. He also acted as a representative of the Bohemian estates, e.g. B. on the Heilbronn Union Day 1621.1619 he hosted Friedrich V of the Palatinate , to whom he held fast as a supporter of the Protestant religion . As a result of the lost battle on the White Mountain , his dominions Falkenau and Duppau were confiscated, the former was sold to Otto von Nostitz in 1622 , the latter to Wilhelm Verdugo .

In 1621 he managed to flee to Köthen and thus save his life. There he became a member of the Fruit Bringing Society as Der Ausgetruckte . He died an exile.

family

Johann Albin married Johanna Freiin von Wildenfels in 1609. Their son was Joachim Andreas II. Schlick, Count of Passaun and Weisskirchen (1618–1666), first marriage to Christine Maria van Schönburg-Schillen (1638–1678), second marriage to Agnes Johanna Schlick von Passaun and Weisskirchen (1661– 1750) married. With this son, this branch of the family died out in the male line.
