Johnnie Rook is a Berlin punk rock band that was founded in 2001 by Michael Jentzen. The band is named after the Falkland Caracara, also known as Johnny Rook. This bird of prey is known for its unusual repertoire of behaviors.

history

Johnnie Rook was founded by Michael Jentzen in 2001 after seeing a concert by the Dutch band Bambix in SO 36 in Berlin . The Bambix are also officially the role model of Johnnie Rook. After several line-up changes, during which a first concert was played on February 22nd, 2002 in the legendary KVU in Berlin, Johnnie Rook appeared in a permanent line-up from 2003 under the name Johnnie Rook. The first concert took place on October 18th in the Potse .

Since 2003 the band has played over 300 concerts in Germany, Austria, Holland and the Czech Republic, on large and small stages, with a number of greats from the rock and punk rock sector. Four CD albums and one split LP were released with the Ninja Dolls (Sweden). In addition, Johnnie Rook released a split EP in September 2011 together with the band Bambix (Netherlands), who are now good friends.

In 2015, the band announced that singer Franziska would leave the band for family reasons.

On October 7th, 2015 the band introduced the new singer Polly on their homepage and Facebook.
