Jokeiba

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jokeiba is a ball sport invented by John Köhler, in which two teams of five players each compete against each other. Two goal areas and a football are required for exercise . The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible for the opposing team through a skillful passing game and long jumps into the goal area. The specialty of the Jokeiba is that women and men play together in a mixed team.

Teams

Jokeiba is played with two teams of five people each. The teams are mixed. At tournaments, however, care is taken that the teams playing are balanced, i.e. have the same ratio between men and women. In addition, a team may keep other players ready who can be deployed behind the baseline in a flying change.

Playing field for Jokeiba

Jokeiba is usually played on a 48 m long and 24 m wide grass pitch. The playing field is divided into the two halves of the teams. In each half there are four nested square areas at a distance of 1 m. This area forms the goal area of a team. The 8 × 8 m goal areas are each 10 m away from the center line, 6 m away from the back line and 8 m away from the outer lines.

The sports equipment at the Jokeiba is a football , as it is also used in American football .

Distribution of points for men and women

The aim of the game is to bring the ball to a safe stop in one of the inner squares of the opposing goal area without entering the area of the outer squares. The outer squares must therefore be crossed by a long jump. This is made more difficult by the fact that the ball is not allowed to run. A goal is thus scored by skipping the outer areas of the goal area, picking up the ball while jumping over a suitable pass and the player safely coming to a stop in the goal with the ball in hand. Different point rates apply to men and women. Women get 3 points for reaching the inner square, 2 points for the next largest and 1 point for the next largest. Men get 2 points for the innermost square and one point for the next larger square, so they have to jump one meter further than women. For children under 14, the point rules for women also apply regardless of gender.

The principle of the game is to play as a team.

Main features

It is not allowed to run with the ball in hand. If the ball is caught in the run, it has to be passed during the next two steps or the catcher has to stop and then come to a stop so that the referee can see it. In this way, the game is mainly characterized by passes and by skillful positioning (running free) of the teammates without the ball. Jokeiba is a disembodied sport. The opponents must always keep a minimum distance of 50 cm from the ball carrier. It is therefore not allowed to hit the ball out of the opponent's hand or to restrict the opponent's movement directly. It is also not allowed to specifically block the opponent's path (e.g. to the goal).

distribution

Jokeiba stands for " Jo hn K öhlers Ei er ba ll" and was developed by John Köhler as part of his state examination thesis . There are now numerous Jokeiba groups. Jokeiba is played regularly in Berlin, Braunschweig, Hamburg, Hanover, Cologne, Oldenburg, Stade, Leipzig, Kiel and Scheeßel, among others. In addition, tournaments take place every year.
