José María Franco , full name José María Franco Ramallo , (born September 28, 1978 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.88-meter-tall offensive player Franco was at the beginning of his career from 1996 to 1997 in ranks of Central Español . From 1998 to mid-2001 he was a player for Club Atlético Peñarol , which was Uruguayan champion in 1999 during this period. It is there for him participation in 73 first division games and 22 goals. This was followed by a career station at Turin FC, for which he was active until the end of June 2005 and in which he was used across seasons in a total of 17 Serie A games (four goals) and 23 second division games (no goal). He then briefly worked for the Santiago Wanderers in Chile. Since the beginning of 2007 he was again a member of Peñarol Montevideo. For the "Aurinegros" he ran 39 matches in the Primera División in this second engagement and scored 20 times in the opposing goal. Two appearances (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2009 have also been recorded for him. In August 2009, Franco joined Peñarol's league rivals River Plate Montevideo . In the 209/10 and 2010/11 seasons, the statistics show him 15 first division appearances and five goals for him. At the beginning of August 2011 he switched to CS Emelec . He was used 13 times (three goals) in the Ecuadorians in Primera A and twice (one goal) in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana . He left the club in December of that year. From October 2012 to January 2013 Danubio FC is listed as its employer. In January 2013, the first division club Centro Atlético Fénix signed him . In the Clausura 2013 he played 13 first division games and scored two goals. From the beginning of October 2013 until at least the end of the season, he then played for Juventud and was used in 14 first division matches during that season, in which he scored two personal goals.

National team

Franco he was part of the Uruguayan Olympic team (U-23), for which he completed at least five international games (Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile) in 2000 and a goal in the 2-0 win on January 18, 2000 against Peru scored.

He made his debut on November 15, 2000 in a 0-0 draw in the World Cup qualifier against Bolivia under coach Daniel Alberto Passarella with a starting eleven for the Uruguayan national team . This personally goalless international match was not followed by any more.
