Joseph (artist dictionary)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Joseph (full title Dictionnaire biographique des artistes contemporains 1910–1930 ) is a French-language artist lexicon .

It was edited and edited by René Édouard-Joseph in three volumes and a supplementary volume. The title is Dictionnaire biographique des artistes contemporains 1910–1930 ( German : Biographical Lexicon of Contemporary Artists 1910–1930 ), but the lexicon is primarily known under the name Joseph . His goal was to compile brief biographical information about artists of the early 20th century, including biographies of lesser known artists. This should fill a gap in the Bénézit , the leading French artist lexicon . It is rather rare and is hardly used today.
