Joseph Daniel Early (born January 31, 1933 in Worcester , Massachusetts , † November 9, 2012 there ) was an American politician . Between 1975 and 1993 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Joseph Early attended the public schools of his home country and then until 1955 the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. Between 1955 and 1957 he served in the US Navy . From 1959 to 1963 he was a teacher in Shrewsbury and Spencer . At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . From 1963 to 1974 he was an MP in the Massachusetts House of Representatives . Between 1964 and 1970 he participated as a delegate at the party congresses of the Democrats at the state level.

In the 1974 congressional election , Early was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the third constituency of Massachusetts , where he succeeded Harold Donohue on January 3, 1975 . After eight re-elections, he was able to complete nine legislative terms in Congress by January 3, 1993 . In 1992, Joseph Early was not re-elected as a result of the House banking scandal . As a result, he no longer appeared politically. He spent his old age in his hometown Worcester.
