July Cross

The July Cross ( French Ordre de la Croix de Juillet ) was an award donated by King Ludwig Philip I on December 30, 1830 to the military and civilians in memory of the July Revolution of 1830 . The draft law of October 9, 1830 was passed with 204 to 20 votes on November 13.

Order decoration

The order decoration is a silver enamelled star with three double rays, at the tips of which there are silver balls. The rays are underlaid by an oak wreath tied at the bottom and the cross is surmounted by a wall crown. The obverse bears the inscription 27th 28th 29th JUILLET 1830 and the inscription DONNE PAR LE ROI DES FRANCAIS (bestowed by the King of the French). In the lapel you can see the Gallic rooster , which is surrounded by a red ring with the inscription PATRIE ET ​​LIBERTE (Fatherland and Freedom).

Ribbon

The ribbon on which the award was worn is a 31 mm wide red-rimmed ribbon with light blue water.
