King Ban , also Ban de Bénoïc (Ban of Benwick), is a figure of Arthurian epic . In the tradition of the Lancelot prose novel, he is the father of Lancelot and Hector des Mares (or Hector de Maris) and is therefore also the grandfather of Galaad and the brother of King Bors (Bohort de Gaunes). Lancelot is the child of Elaine von Benoic and King Ban.
