Kümmerly + Frey
Kümmerly + Frey was a Swiss map publisher founded in Bern in 1852 .
In 1852 Gottfried Kümmerly founded a lithography company in Bern . In 1884 the brothers Hermann and Arnold Kümmerly took over the business. In 1898 her cousin Julius Frey became a partner. In 1944 the company was founded . The publishing program included atlases, magazines and illustrated books. After the bankruptcy in 2001 of cartographic area was from about MairDumont belonging Hallwag AG adopted and since then the company Hallwag Kümmerly + Frey .
As early as 1999, Kümmerly + Frey AG and Kober-Verlag GmbH founded a joint subsidiary, Kober-Kümmerly + Frey Media AG , whose shares were wholly owned by Kober-Verlag in Cologne after the Swiss publisher went bankrupt in 2002 .
