Cabinet of the King
The King's Cabinet (Dutch: Kabinet van de Koning , in the case of a queen: Kabinet van de Koningin ) is the official apparatus that supports the King of the Netherlands in carrying out his constitutional duties. The cabinet was founded in 1841 and is not to be confused with the government cabinet.
It is responsible for:
- intercourse between the king and the other members of the government (the king is formally the head of government)
- Contacts between the king and other state organs
- Receptions, visits and access to the king
- Petitions to the King
- the registration, retention and transfer of laws, royal ordinances and other state documents
The building of the king's cabinet is located in the immediate vicinity of the Binnenhof government complex in The Hague.
