from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kagematsu is a pen and paper role-playing game developed by Danielle Lewon and released by Cream Alien Games in 2009 . The German edition was published by System Matters Verlag in 2016 .

Game world

Kagematsu is located in feudal Japan during the so-called Sengoku period . The players represent women who are some of the last remaining people living in a small village while the men were drafted into the war. At the beginning of the game, the players determine a threat that threatens the village and from which only the eponymous Rōnin Kagematsu can save the inhabitants. During the game, the women try to seduce the ronin to protect their village.

concept

The game makes gender roles and unequal power relations in reverse roles the content, since a woman is expressly supposed to take over the game management and the role of the ronin. The village women, on the other hand, can only advertise their promise with "charm" or "innocence", but are dependent on the luck of the dice and the ratings of the ronin.

Award

Kagematsu won Indie RPG of the Year in 2009 and was nominated for the Diana Jones Award in 2010 .
