V. and Friesenkampf , host Eintracht Duisburg 1848 e. V. The sports competitions in the Kaiserbergfest no longer take place on a central date, but rather on different days through major sport-specific events in the competition calendar.

history

In 1883 the gymnastics club 1848 and Gauwart Dietrich Henning invited for the first time to the large meadow near the water tower on the Kaiserberg . In the high and long jump, stone pushing and 200 m run with a turning point, gymnasts should try out new sports in addition to the classic gymnastics disciplines. The folk festival atmosphere on the Kaiserberg with sports competitions, food and drink stands and musical entertainment took place there until 1909. The number of initially 500 athletes from the Gau (Duisburg, Essen, Wesel, Mülheim and Oberhausen), who were organized in 18 clubs, grew quickly. In 1910 the event was relocated to Lotharplatz due to a lack of space and then moved to the Wedaustadion in 1923 .
