The Kammerphilharmonie Leipzig consists of musicians who study or have graduated from the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig and who now work in orchestras such as the Gewandhausorchester and the mdr-Sinfonieorchester . The orchestra, which has existed since 2000, maintains an extensive repertoire from the baroque to the modern, including concerts in the Great Hall of the Leipzig Gewandhaus and the Konzerthaus Berlin as well as traditional gala concerts at the turn of the year. Concert tours have taken the ensemble to China, Korea, India and the USA, among others. The orchestra works closely with Leipzig choirs, guest conductors and renowned and internationally recognized soloists. The musical offer is supplemented by the Philharmonic Choir and the Leipzig Philharmonic Youth Choir.
