The Kanakian Socialist Front of National Liberation (French: Front de libération nationale kanak et socialiste - FLNKS ) is a militant socialist alliance of political parties for the independence of New Caledonia .

It was founded in 1975 at a congress of different parties ( Front uni de libération kanak (FULK), Parti de libération kanake (Palika), Union calédonienne (UC)). She sees herself as a "revolutionary representative" of the Kanak people. Jean-Marie Tjibaou initially led the new party.

In 1988, when Ouvéa was taken hostage, four members of the Groupe d'intervention de la gendarmerie nationale and 19 members of the FLNKS were killed by a command of the FLNKS . In the same year, the Martignon Agreement stipulated a vote on an expanded self-government for New Caledonia for 1998 and an amnesty for the hostage-takers. At the same time, the FLNKS refrained from violent detachment of New Caledonia from France; since 1989 she has participated in the elections.
