Organization and content

Kanal K consists of two bodies: the sponsoring association “IG Regionalradio” and the stock corporation “Regionalradio Aargaudio AG”. The association supports all efforts to set up and operate a grassroots, democratically determined, non-commercial local radio station. The purpose of the company is to operate the non-commercial local radio.

Members of the IG Regionalradio support association can either take free radio courses as active participants and then produce their own programs on Kanal K or support the broadcaster as passive members. During the day the program mainly consists of music. In the evenings, either editorial contributions on issues relating to society, politics, culture, sustainability, integration or youth from the training editors or programs in a total of over 15 different languages by the volunteers can be heard.

As a training radio, in addition to commercial internships in the areas of programming and music editing, Kanal K also offers 6-month radio journalism internships, giving young people and young adults an insight into the Swiss media world.
