The Karadere Dam ( Karadere Barajı in Turkish ) is located 13 km northwest of the city of Taşköprü in the east of the Turkish province of Kastamonu .
The Karadere Dam was built between 1993 and 2007 on the Karadere Deresi , a left tributary of the Gökırmak . The dam is used to irrigate an area of 6100 ha. The barrier structure is a 70 m high earthfill dam . The dam volume is 3,265,000 m³. The 2.9 km long reservoir covers an area of 1.01 km² with normal damming. The storage volume is 26 million m³.
