Karate Bundesliga KSD Rottenburg 1992–1995

The Karate Bundesliga was the highest German league for club teams in karate from 1991 to 2002 . The German team champion was determined by the league and subsequent play-offs . The first attempt to introduce a karate league was made in the mid-1970s.

The founding of the Bundesliga was decided at the DKV Federal Assembly on March 9, 1991 and started on May 11, 1991 with the first day of the fight. Nine teams each belonged to the north and south seasons of the men's and women's leagues (the south seasons of women started with six teams). From 2002 the Bundesliga was no longer carried out. Since then, the first teams of a regional association have qualified for the German team championships.
