Cardinalism

The Kardinalismus is a concept of Christian ethics . He subordinates the natural virtues to the theological virtues .

The four cardinal natural or philosophical virtues mentioned in Plato's book Politeia are

  • Sophia (wisdom)
  • Andreia (bravery)
  • Sophrosyne (prudence) and
  • Dikaiosyne (justice)

In cardinalism, these are assigned and subordinated to the theological and supernatural virtues of faith, hope and love.
