The karst water level describes the variable upper limit of the phreatic zone in the porous karst , especially in a limestone or gypsum cave that is partially filled with water . In contrast to the sea level, it cannot be fixed and fluctuates depending on the inflows ( amount of precipitation ) and the amount flowing out.
