A tunic (also Kasak ) is an item of clothing that is primarily worn by employees in the care and medical sector. The word Kasack comes from the French casaque (further origin unclear) and originally describes a three-quarter-length women's blouse. Tunics are available in different designs. The conventional form is a closed, short-sleeved shirt with an overcut V-neck, usually with a breast pocket and two side pockets at about hip height, similar to a laboratory coat . There are also open tunics, sleeveless, half-sleeved or full-sleeved, which are longer, similar to a doctor's coat. Tunics are usually provided by the employer and cleaned after each work.

The color of the uniforms of hospital employees, including the tunic, can differ depending on the area of application and from clinic to clinic.
