Umbrella bailiwick
Schirmvogtei (also Kastvogtei or Kastenvogtei ) is a legal term of Alemannic origin, which was valid from the High Middle Ages to the early modern period . When assuming the office of umbrella vogt , feudal lords had the protective supervision of a monastery or a monastery and certain tasks in the monastic management (box = warehouse), its jurisdiction and the legal representation outside and in court. In return, parts of the tithe went to the guardian bailiff .
