history

The Kelheim outdoor pool was opened in 1968, and the indoor pool a year later. In Kelheim there was the first combination pool in Bavaria. With an arched swimming pool made of wood, the Kelheim indoor swimming pool had an architecture that was unique in Germany at that time. The then modern coin system from Schulte & Schlagbaum, Velbert was also unique. Even then, the indoor pool, like today's Keldorado, had a sports pool with a length of 25 m and four lanes, making it suitable for competitions.

On July 21, 1986, the bath was largely destroyed in a fire and rebuilt from 1989 to 1992.
