Core mature wood tree

A heart-ripening tree is a tree that has a colored but water-poor wood part as the transition from the heartwood to the sapwood . From the outside in, the tree has sapwood, mature wood and heartwood.

The core-hoopwood trees which is one common ash ( Fraxinus excelsior ) and the spindle tree ( Euonymus ).
