Kids on tour

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kids on Tour is an offer to accompany children traveling alone.

The offer is offered by the Bahnhofsmission in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn AG . It is aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 14 traveling alone. Trained supervisors from the station mission accompany the children during their journey, with one employee responsible for a maximum of five children. The offer has existed since June 2003 and is aimed e.g. B. to children from divorced marriages who go to the other parent for a weekend.

The service is on Fridays and Sundays. The train connections offered were selected with the view that children can travel to relatives or friends on Friday lunchtime and return home on Sunday. The offer exists on these routes:

On the way, the children can get on or be picked up at all scheduled stops of the trains that have a local station mission. In Basel SBB there is a cooperation with the local station assistance. All routes are offered in both directions.

Kids on Tour is limited. 10 places are offered per connection. Seats that become vacant at stations on the way can be booked again from the disembarking station. (Example: 9 children start in Stuttgart in the direction of Hamburg. Anna gets on in Mannheim and drives to Kassel. From Kassel, Tim can get on to Hamburg.)
