Kildonan House

Kildonan House is a manor house about one kilometer north-west of the Scottish village of Barrhill in the council area of South Ayrshire . It is not far from the north bank of the Duisk River . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

description

The conservative lower house deputies Euan Wallace inherited the lands of Kildonan under the conditions that he built his residence there. Wallace's wife Barbara Lutyens is the daughter of the architect Edwin Lutyens , who did not design Kildonan House. The Scottish architect James Miller was responsible for this, but he was based on Lutyen's style.

The large-scale Kildonan House was completed in 1923. It is based on the English manor house architecture of past centuries. The building houses an auditorium and a tennis court. In 2009, Kildonan House was added to the Register of Endangered Listed Buildings in Scotland. However, its condition was last classified as good with low risk in 2012.
