The Kirazdere Dam ( Turkish Kirazdere Barajı ) is located 11 km south of the city of İzmit in the Turkish province of Kocaeli .
The Kirazdere Dam was built in 1986-1999 on the Kirazdere, a tributary of the Gulf of İzmit (bay in the far east of the Marmara Sea ). The dam is used to supply drinking water . The barrier structure is a 102.5 m (according to other information 109 m) high stone embankment dam . The dam volume is 5.2 million m³. The 4 km long reservoir covers an area of 1.74 km² with normal damming. The storage volume is 60 million m³. The dam supplies 142 million m³ of drinking water a year.
